Responsible play help desk.
The help desk lists India-specific helplines, self-exclusion pathways, deposit-limit setup and the realistic scope of what each resource can do. The desk publishes the list once and updates it on operator or helpline changes, not on promotional cadence.
India helplines
The desk treats the following three helplines as the canonical list. Each is verified on the linked organisation's own page before publication; the desk does not maintain the helpline lines themselves.
iCALL — 9152987821
Tata Institute of Social Sciences counselling helpline; available in Hindi, English and several regional languages. The desk cross-checks the number quarterly against the TISS page.
Gamblers Anonymous India
A network of in-person and online meetings. The directory on the GAI site lists the active meetings.
National Council on Problem Gambling
Resource directory and state-wise treatment locator.
Operator-side tools
Three operator-side tools every regulated Indian rummy platform must offer:
- Deposit limit. A self-set ceiling per day, week or month. The reader sets it; the operator enforces it.
- Time-out. A pause of 24 hours to six weeks during which the reader cannot log in.
- Self-exclusion. A six-month minimum period during which the reader cannot reopen the same account. Re-application requires a cool-down of at least seven days after the exclusion ends.
Editor's note
The desk flags any operator that does not publish the three tools on the responsible-play page with the same wording as above.
What the desk cannot do
The desk is editorial. It is not a counselling service, a treatment provider or a regulator. The help desk lists resources; it does not route readers to a named counsellor and does not give medical or psychological advice. For a life-critical situation, contact local emergency services first.
